Holiday 2021 In-Store Advertisements

In 2021, I collaborated with Auto-Wares to design a series of holiday-themed posters for their Auto Value and Bumper to Bumper stores across the Midwest. These ads were part of a seasonal campaign promoting Shell Rotella oil and a supercar driving experience contest. The goal was to create eye-catching visuals that effectively communicated the promotional message while maintaining brand consistency.

Overview

The project began with a thorough understanding of the campaign's objectives and the target audience. I worked closely with the marketing team at Auto-Wares to brainstorm ideas that would resonate with their customers during the holiday season.

  • Research & Inspiration: I researched current design trends in the automotive industry and gathered inspiration for a holiday-themed aesthetic that would appeal to Auto-Wares' customer base.
  • Concept Development: I developed multiple design concepts, focusing on bold colors and dynamic imagery that would stand out in a retail environment. The final design featured bright yellow backgrounds, which complemented the Shell Rotella branding, and dynamic visuals of cars and oil bottles to draw attention.
  • Design Execution: Using Adobe Illustrator and Photoshop, I brought the concepts to life, ensuring high-quality print-ready files. The designs were tested for visual impact in various store layouts to ensure they would be effective in diverse retail settings.
  • Feedback & Revisions: I incorporated feedback from my coworkers, making necessary adjustments to align the final designs with their brand guidelines and marketing goals.

Result

The holiday posters were successfully deployed across numerous Auto Value and Bumper to Bumper stores throughout the Midwest. The vibrant designs effectively captured customer attention, contributing to increased in-store engagement with the promotional campaign. The campaign's success was reflected in the higher-than-expected participation in the supercar driving experience contest, showcasing the effectiveness of the visual communication strategy.
