Personal Branding

They Don't Make 'em Like They Used To

In an era where automotive design has trended towards round, homogeneous shapes, I often find myself longing for the sharp edges and distinctive features of classic cars. There's a certain charm and character in the angular lines and pop-up headlights that modern designs seem to lack.

In my work, I strive to bring back these retro elements, infusing them with a contemporary twist. I believe that design should evoke emotion and nostalgia while pushing the boundaries of innovation. This philosophy guides my approach to projects, where I aim to blend the best of the past and present, creating visually striking and memorable design

Overview

For this project, I had complete creative freedom to design a poster based on a personal passion. While I could have chosen a pressing societal issue, my enthusiasm for car design took the forefront. Initially, my concept was different, but my love for automotive aesthetics ultimately guided my decision.

Utilizing the 3D tool in Adobe Illustrator, I crafted the main structure of the poster. The featured car, a 1986 Toyota MR2, embodies the sharp edges and iconic design elements that inspire me. This project allowed me to explore my passion and have fun with the design process, creating a piece that reflects my unique perspective on car design.

Result

The final result provides an insightful look into peak car design, showcasing a blend of sharp edges and classic features. The piece is one I take great pride in, and it represents a design I would be honored to print and display.
